What is the process of starting CBT therapy?

You can choose from the following options:

Initial Consultation (60 minutes)
This session provides an opportunity to explore your needs in detail, gain an understanding of your difficulties, and discuss a possible treatment plan. At the end of the appointment, you can decide whether to proceed with therapy.

Begin Treatment
This option includes an initial assessment (usually completed within the first two sessions), followed by the ongoing therapy sessions needed to work towards your treatment goals.

What happens in CBT sessions?

I offer an initial assessment session for prospective clients. This provides an opportunity for us to explore whether working together in CBT feels like the right fit. It is equally important that you feel comfortable with your therapist as it is that I feel able to support you.

At the end of this first session, we will discuss and agree on an approximate number of sessions. There is no obligation to attend all sessions, and you are free to end therapy at any time.

A review session will take place at the end of the agreed period, during which we will jointly reflect on your progress and consider any further steps that may be helpful. If we decide not to work together, I will do my best to provide you with details of alternative practitioners or services.

Sessions usually last 60 minutes. If you arrive late, the session will still end at the scheduled time to avoid delaying the next client.

What about confidentiality?

I maintain strict standards of confidentiality, and your data is kept securely.

How many CBT sessions will I need?

CBT for OCD varies from person to person, as the length of therapy depends on your individual needs, goals and pace of progress. My approach is carefully tailored to each client.

I offer an initial assessment session to explore your difficulties, understand how OCD is affecting you, and agree on a treatment plan that feels right for you. At the end of this session, we will discuss an estimated timeframe for therapy, which can be reviewed and adjusted at any time. You are always welcome to reflect on your progress with me, and we can adapt the work if you feel your needs are changing or if progress feels slower than expected.

Fees

Each CBT session lasts 60 minutes, and payment is required in advance.

Do you offer online CBT sessions?

Yes, I provide online CBT sessions. These can either complement in-person therapy or serve as a standalone treatment. Research indicates that remote CBT can be just as effective as traditional face-to-face therapy, while offering greater flexibility and convenience.

Cancellation Policy

A 48-hour notice is required to cancel CBT appointments; otherwise, the full fee is payable.
